Kindergarten teacher Ms. Kimmel collaborated with a fellow teacher from Hilliard, Ohio to contribute items for the “Mail Call” for a Vietnam War Veteran. The veteran took an Honor Flight from Columbus to Washington DC on October 19, 2019. Here are the kindergarten students with their special pictures for that very special Veteran!
Our study body took part in the presentation of a flag and certificate to military veterans Gerald Purcell and Ray Petty. The veterans were presented with a flag that was flown over the United States Capitol on April 10, 1986, at the request of the Honorable Michael G. Oxley, Member of Congress.
Also, a big thanks to our KHS band and JROTC for participating in the Veteran’s Day Assembly.
We appreciate our veterans!

Kenton Elementary School celebrated HERO Day (Helping Everyone Respect Others) on Thursday, October 10th. October is National Bullying Prevention Month and this was a positive way KES chose to bring awareness and promote prevention. (Superheroes are volunteers Ethan Manns and Aubrey Thrush from Kenton High School).
Congratulations to the U10 Girls Kenton YMCA soccer team to a 1st place at the Van Buren soccer tournament division C! It was a close battle but the girls won by scoring one more goal than the second place team. Coach Blue and Coach Byers led the team to a successful season. A big thanks to Coach Blue for caring about our girls in and out of the school building!

Mrs. Sherman made the life cycle come to life during an awesome Friday activity! The kids were grasshoppers, lizards and hawks. The grasshoppers had to “eat” cheerios to have energy. The lizards had to “eat” the grasshoppers and the hawks could “eat” both the lizards or grasshoppers. It was more than just a game of tag! It really did make the life cycle come to life for the kids! Way to be inspiring and make learning fun, Mrs. Sherman!
