Our student body had a great experience with the “Super U! Challenge.” This is a one-of-a-kind school assembly that uses a unique format of a wacky kid’s TV game show to help students understand that their words and actions impact everyone around them, and to empower every grade level to do their part to create a safe and friendly school community.
The action-packed assembly includes lots of audience volunteers from every grade level who participate in funny challenges with costumes, silly props…and yes, even some slime! Take a look at some of the fun!
Each year Mrs. Mikesell organizes a special “Celebrate Around the World” event for our KES third grade students. This event allows our students to learn about other countries and cultures as they “travel” to various “countries” throughout the day. Amy puts a lot of time into preparing materials and communicates with staff and students at KHS in order to recruit volunteers. She coordinates with Louise Matthews from The Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center of Bluffton University, who brings clothing samples from other countries and leads a special presentation for this event.
Miss Loughman from KHS attended along with a number of her KHS volunteers. The third grade students appreciated all the help from the KHS students and enjoyed the presentations from the exchange students.
