PTO Officer Nominations for PTO Board 2017-2018

The KES PTO is currently seeking nominations to fill the open positions for the below-listed offices for the 2017-2018 school year.  The deadline for PTO Officer Nomination submission is at the start of the PTO meeting on Thursday, April 6th, 2017.

All interested candidates must attend BOTH PTO meetings on April 6th and May 4th.  The election will take place on Thursday, May 4th at 6:30 PM in the KES Auxiliary Gym.  Only those present at the May PTO meeting can vote.  No absentee voting permitted.  For any questions, contact the current PTO Board at:  kentonelementarypto@gmail.com.

2017-2018 PTO Board Officer Position Descriptions

President
Serves as principal executive officer of the organization.  (Per the bylaws, April Miller, current Vice President, will fill this role for 2017-2018.)

Vice President
Facilitates PTO communication to parents and teachers via email.  Oversees and manages volunteers via Sign-Up Genius.  Acts as aide to the president and performs the president duties in the absence or inability of the president.  The 2017-2018 Vice President will move into President position for the 2018-2019 school year.  (2 year term)

Secretary
Keeps and prepares the meeting minutes of the membership and board.  Must attend monthly PTO meetings and Board meetings to record proceedings.  Prepares meeting agenda with the President and maintains official records .  Submits information for the PTO Corner in the KES Newsletter.  (1 year term)

Treasurer
Responsible for all funds of the organization.  Reports account balance at membership or monthly meetings.  Collects and deposits PTO monies.  (1 year term)

Communications Officer
Prepares all external communication on behalf of PTO, including:  PTO Facebook Page posts, or other social media, and newspaper.  Contacts news media for events and create event flyers.  (1 year term)

PTO Nomination Forms were sent home with students.  Additional forms are available in the school office.
