Celebrate Wherever You Are!
On Thursday, December 17th, students from the KATS Club (Kenton Association of Traveling Students) Kenton High School and Louise Matthews from the Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center at Bluffton University helped lead an exciting day of learning in third grade at Kenton Elementary School!
Third grade students learned about holiday celebrations of Kenya, Mexico, China, Sweden, India, and other cultures. High school students led different stations about specific cultures. They read a book to the children and led them in a craft connected to the holiday. Mrs. Matthews led a readers theatre and song, as well as, led other activities.
Sasha Khakimova, an exchange student from Kazakhstan, also shared about her home. All students received a passport for the day and collected “stamps” as they “traveled” around to different stations.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
