Fifth grade students hosted a “Coin of the Day” Fundraiser December 16th – December 19th to support classmate Abbygail Rigsby.
Abby has a condition called Osteogensis Imperfecta, more commonly known as “Brittle Bone Disease,” that has prevented her from coming to school several days this year.
On Tuesday, students brought in pennies and nickels, Wednesday – dimes, Thursday – quarters, and Friday any type of coin or dollar. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of gas cards to help Abby’s family to drive to various doctors all over the state.
The “Help Break Brittle Bones” committee was led by fifth grader Mitch Jennings. Other members include: Maddi Kugel, Gunnar Stout, Katie Sturgeon, and Alyssa Tidd.
Third grade students from Kenton Elementary School have artwork on display at the Sullivan-Johnson Museum of Hardin County (223 North Main Street, Kenton) on the second floor. The artwork features different artists that the students have studied.
Please visit the artwork Tuesdays, Thursday, and Fridays from 12 PM – 5 PM or Wednesdays from 10 AM – 5 PM.
Thank you for your support of our students!
The Kenton Elementary School third grade students will present their Christmas musical on Thursday, December 18th at 7 PM in the Kenton Elementary School Cafeteria. The program is called “ARF! On the Housetop!” and it tells the story of some children who would love a puppy for Christmas and introduces some very playful puppies who would love a home for the holidays.
Dress Rehearsal:
The Dress Rehearsal will be approximately 9 AM in the Kenton Elementary School Cafeteria the day of the performance. Because of the amount of audience seating, we would like to encourage grandparents or other family members to attend the morning Dress Rehearsal instead of the evening performance.
Arrival Time:
Students should arrive at Kenton Elementary School on Thursday, December 18th at 6:30 PM and go to their classrooms. Please have your students leave their coats and other belongings with you, as they will not be returning to the classrooms after the performance.
Costumes:
Each student may wear any festive holiday-themed outfit they would like! If your child was given a puppy speaking part, we will have a headband for them to wear.
Parking:
If your student is in Mrs. Berry, Mrs. Brielmaier, or Mrs. Erter’s class, please park in the back of the school. If your student is in Mrs. Cheney, Mrs. Ewing, Mrs. Gammon, or Mrs. Sprang’s class, please park in the front of the school.
Seating:
Mrs. Berry, Mrs. Brielmaier, or Mrs. Erter’s students will stand on the right side of the stage. For best viewing of your child, please sit on the left side of the seating. Mrs. Cheney, Mrs. Ewing, Mrs. Gammon, or Mrs. Sprang’s students will stand on the left side of the stage. For best viewing of your child, please sit on the right side of the seating.
As an added bonus this year, if 100% of all Mrs. Sheldon’s third grade students are in attendance, those students will receive an ice cream sundae party during their next music class with her.
