5th and 6th Grade Choir Concert Reminder

Music Notes

The Kenton Elementary School 5th and 6th grade choir students will present their Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 9th at 7 PM in the Kenton Elementary School Cafeteria.  The Dress Rehearsal will be approximately 9 AM in the Kenton Elementary School Cafeteria that same day.  Because of the amount of audience seating, we would like to encourage grandparents or other family members to attend the morning Dress Rehearsal instead of the evening performance.

Students should begin to arrive at Kenton Elementary School on Tuesday, December 9th at 6:30 PM and go to the large gymnasium.  PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS SO THAT ALL CHOIR STUDENTS IN 5TH AND 6TH GRADE CHOIR AT KENTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ARE IN ATTENDANCE.

Parking:  5th grade students’ families should park in front of the KES.  6th grade students’ families should park in the back of KES.

Attire:  Clothing is simple – just wear your dressiest black and/or white.

As an added bonus this year, if 100% of all 5th and 6th grade choir students are in attendance, those students will receive an ice cream sundae party during their next music class!

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Sheldon or Mr. Daquino at 419-673-7248.

Kenton Elementary School Canned Food Drive Results

Thank you to all who participated in the canned food drive at Kenton Elementary School during the week of November 17th – November 21st.

KES was able to fill 14 shopping carts completely full along with several cases of food.  Our building alone collected over 3,600 food items!

Our district was able to collect over 6,800 food items and $200 in cash!

C Pod was the building winner with collecting the most food items and has earned a movie day.

Again, thank you to all who participated in the canned food drive!

Emergency Evacuation Drill

Wildcat

On Monday, December 1st, Kenton Elementary School will be conducting our annual Emergency Evacuation Drill.

This is a practice procedure required by law for our school in case we would need to evacuate the building.  The Kenton Police Department will be assisting our school with this drill.

Please make sure that your student is dressed appropriately for the drill – hat, gloves, jacket, tennis shoes, etc…

If you have any questions, please contact the school office at 419-673-7248.

Canned Food Drive at KES

Canned Food

During the week of November 18th – 21st, Kenton Elementary School will be participating in a canned food drive.

All of the food collected will be donated to local food pantries here in Kenton.

Last year, Kenton City Schools collected over 10,000 items!  This year, our goal is to do even better!

The pod collecting the most food items will get to enjoy a movie in the gymnasium.  However, most importantly, we will be practicing November’s character education value of “Citizenship” by caring for our community!
